Porter-Gaud School provided my elementary education, from 1st through 6th grades (1970-1976). I moved to <a href="http://www.college-prep.net">College Preparatory School (College Prep)</a> for grades 7th through 12th (1976-1982). Graduated in 1982, I went on to Hampden-Sydney College in Virginia, where I earned a BS degree in Math and Computer Science. My interests are water sports, especially skiiing, computers and photography. After college, I sold Macintosh computer systems, mostly to the architectural market in Charleston, SC, until early 1989. In 1989, I married Jane Heyward. After traveling Europe for three months, we settled in England (UK), in Eastcote, Middlesex. I sold CAD systems to the London Architectural market from 1989 through 1991. After that we returned to Charleston, where I continued my sales career until 1995. In January of 1995, I started <a href="http://www.ccgnet.com/">Computer Consultants Group, Inc. (CCG)</a>. CCG services the Charleston, SC, area as an outsource technical support IT resource for small business. CCG is a consulting-only company, that does no product sales. It specializes in supporting Macintosh systems, but also supports a number of Windows networks and servers. In addition, CCG offers web design and development. A bit of trivia, in 1994, as CCG was being conceived, we configured and installed the first web server in Charleston. In 2005, the web development part of CCG became <a href="http://www.metatation.com">metatation</a>. Metatation specializes in developing custom websites, tailored to the needs of the client. Its focus is building sites conforming to Web Standards, structuring content optimally to expose keywords to Google and other search engines, and building custom content management systems to match the sites it creates. My wife and I have three children, ages 15, 11 and 7. They all attend James Island Christian School. Our family are active members of <a href="http://www.saint-james.org/">Saint James Church</a>, Episcopal, on James Island. Jane is a member of the choir, and various committees. I help run the technical ministries providing sound and projection support at the contemporary services. In 2005, after a 15 year hiatus from taking photos, I resumed pursuing photography as a hobby. My specialities are candid photos of people and photos of birds in the wild. My favorite candid settings are parties, or larger gatherings, where I can catch people unawares. I have begun to branch out into semi-professional work, encompassing portraiture, architectural photography and landscapes. Today my working time is divided roughly 50/50 between CCG and metatation projects, and I pursue photography at all opportunities. CCG is focused on providing outsourced IT support under contract to a small group of clients, and has three employees.
